In 2005 Dj Surgeles (Kole Leijen) gave a demo to Jeff Mills while attending one of his shows. The next day Mills himself contacted Surgeles to encourage him to sign a remix for the Purpose Maker label. Two weeks later, the Surgeles remix was on the Axis Records website, a label created by Mills, to celebrate the tenth anniversary of the techno anthem "The Bells".
2009 marked the beginning of Surgeles’ career as a record publisher with the inauguration of his own label Underground Freedom Fighters (UFF) Records, a platform that is still active today and charging along. Since then, the collaborations with Jeff Mills have continued to flow, but his big recognition took place when he finally released in 2017 "The Betty Hill Case," an album for Something In The Sky (a sub-label of Axis).
30drop is a compact and coherent initiative that gives life to the music project by the same name and to the 30drop Records label. Its main pillars are techno, science fiction, future and geometry, clear references to the influence of labels like UR and artists like Juan Atkins.
To mark the occasion of its next release, 30drop will inaugurate its "Close Encounters" in LAUT alongside international producer Dj Surgeles first ever performance in Barcelona.
